A native of Cobb County, and an alumnus of Georgia Tech and the University of South Carolina School of Law, Joel is a founding member of Myers & Kaplan Intellectual Property Law, LLC, and a registered Patent Attorney practicing in the mechanical, electrical, software and business method arts. Additionally, Joel practices trademark and copyright law, prepares and negotiates licensing agreements and litigates all areas of intellectual property law. Prior to joining Myers & Kaplan, Joel was the founder of the law firm of Myers & Associates, P.C., a firm practicing intellectual property, technology, and entertainment law.
